HMAC Partners with North Carolina State University Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering

December 8, 2024

HMAC Welcomes NC State University Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering !  NCSU has finished 1st in prototype & design in a global university competition (out of more than 150 Universities across the world).  NCSU Test Pilots Galen Day and Jake Russell gained some valuable instruction and stick time today at HMAC on our Club Trainer.  HMAC Members also shared our knowledge of Aeromodelling with the NCSU students.  HMAC will serve as the “testing” ground for the NCSU prototype and design.  HMAC is the perfect “test” field for their “missions” which they will have to accomplish in a Global University Competition to be held in Arizona in April 2025.  They are already first “on paper”, so getting some valuable flight instruction, getting input, advice, ideas, etc. from HMAC Members over the coming months will help them in their design, flying & competition, and now they are HMAC Members themselves !  HMAC is Happy and Proud to be a partner with NCSU on this project !  Education and growing our sport & hobby is part of HMAC and the Academy of Model Aeronautics mission..Welcome to HMAC NCSU !

HMAC introduces hundreds to aeromodelling at Harnett Regional Jetport Open House/Jamboree

November 16, 2024

Thousands of aviation enthusiast were introduced to HMAC and aeromodelling at the Harnett Regional Jetport Jamboree/Open House on Saturday, November 16th, 2024.   While full scale aircraft were on display like a P-51 Mustang, PT-17 Stearman Biplane and others, and full scale aircraft were coming and going throughout the day, perhaps the most popular attraction at the event was Harnett Mini Aero Club and their radio control models.

Members of HMAC set up a static display of a number of their models.  The public had the chance to see the models up close, touch and feel the aircraft and HMAC Members spent hours answering all of their questions about HMAC, the models and becoming a member of HMAC, the Academy of Model Aeronautics and model aviation.

HMAC would like to thank our host and partner, Harnett Regional Jetport, for inviting HMAC to be a part of this fantastic event !
